About the Artist

Anne’s interest in photography started in her home country of Germany in the early 1990's. With her second-hand Canon AE-1 film camera, she focused primarily on black-and-white images of children and still objects.
After her arrival in the US in 1999, fascinated by the great outdoors, she added nature photography, especially bird and landscape photography to her range. She has participated in nature photography workshops held by photographers Greg Downing and EJ Peiker and joined award-winning photographer Charles Glatzer for an individualized "Shoot-The-Light" A Day-in-the-Field instructional workshop in order to further fine-tune her skills. Today, Anne shoots with all-digital state-of-the-art professional equipment made by Canon.

Anne is a PhD chemist by training and has worked in different R&D, business development and marketing positions. In summer 2007, she added her passion for photography to her professional interests. Inspired by her daughter Virginia Rose, she focuses on photographing children and adults in their natural environment. In contrast to the controlled shooting conditions in a studio, her experience in nature photography allows her to capture those, often unexpected, precious moments, which are so typical for children in their daily lives.
